Studies of composition, weight and function

The body-composition finding starts the argument. These other results give it scale, duration and complications.

Composition studies

The SURMOUNT-1 DXA substudy reports fat and lean-mass change with tirzepatide. The systematic body-composition review examines incretin therapies and the physical-function gap. For semaglutide, STEP 1 supplies the total-weight comparison and STEP 5 extends the observation over two years.

Semaglutide heart studies

The STEP-HFpEF trial concerns symptoms and physical limitations in obesity-related heart failure with preserved ejection fraction. SELECT concerns major cardiovascular events in adults with cardiovascular disease and overweight or obesity without diabetes.

Withdrawal and tolerability studies

The SURMOUNT-4 trial and its cardiometabolic analysis follow tirzepatide withdrawal. SURMOUNT-1 supplies the tirzepatide gastrointestinal finding. The semaglutide safety review and SUSTAIN-6 supply the gallbladder, rare-event and eye findings discussed here.
